Waiting For The Storm
Saturday wasn't a good day for outdoor stuff. Overcast and windy. About noon we drove over to the Destin History and Fishing Museum. It has a large exhibit of full scale replicas of the types of fish that are caught offshore Destin. Several other exhibits detail the history of Destin beginning in the 1860's when it was a remote commercial fish camp. My grandfather was a commercial fisherman in the Atchafalaya Basin so maybe that's why I feel the connection. We headed over to AJ's for some people watching on the dock. All day we were waiting for the storm to come through. Finally about 6:00 pm it came in. The most severe weather was well north of us but it was fun watching the rain and lightning we did get.
