Buh-Bye Green Turtle

We left Green Turtle on Thursday and started upriver on the Tennessee River. We overnighted at Pebble Isle Marina. Pebble Isle is located in a beautiful bay off the river. On Friday we continued upriver through Pickwick Lock to the Pickwick Lake section of the Tennessee River. We pulled into Grand Harbor marina and arranged a slip for the next month. We will be using Grand Harbor as our base to do some exploring. The Civil War battle at Shiloh was fought near here so we will definately visit the battlefield park. We will visit Memphis for a few days and Tupelo, the birthplace of Elvis Presley is nearby. To the east is the Muscle Shoals area and Chatanooga.

We left behind our boat neighbors of the last six weeks, Jerry and Bonnie. I have pictures of them to post but cannot get a strong enough signal to upload the pictures to blogspot. Jerry and Bonnie are a cruising couple from Michigan who have been cruising for several years. They will be heading for the Gulf Coast later in the year so I'm sure we'll see them again
