I'm A Lonely Frog

We picked up this hitchhiker in Intracoastal City two months ago. He doesn't come out of his hiding spot very often. He reminded me of the famous song by Clarence "Frogman" Henry of New Orleans, 'I'm A Lonely Frog'. The first verse goes like this.
Ain't got no mudder
Ain't got no fadder
Ain't got no sista
Not even a brudda
I'm a lonely frog
Ain't got no home.
Pretty good, huh.

Aqua Yacht Harbor

The northern terminus of the Tenn Tom is Pickwick Lake. We overnighted at Aqua Yacht Harbor. The lake is a huge recreational area because of its proximity to the large cities of Miss. , Tenn., and Ala.

Divide Cut

The last twenty miles of the Tenn Tom is a 280 foot wide canal, the Divide Cut, constructed by the Corps of Engineers. This canal links the Tennessee River with the Tombigbee River thereby creating the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway. This section gives you a chance to get up close and personal to any towboats you meet.

Three Lock Day #2

These are the last three locks on the Tenn Tom. Only one more lock to go on the Tennessee River.

Midway Marina

Midway Marina is located in Fulton, Miss. (pop 2600). We took the courtesy car into town and had lunch at Rick's bar-b-que. Damn good, but not as good as Tim M's. Be aware, though, the county is dry. Luckily, we keep the boat well stocked.

There is a stand of cypress near the marina that reminds me of Butte Larose.

Four Lock Day

I know they all kinda look the same.

Columbus Marina

The Columbus Marina is fairly new and well maintained. We expected the restaurant on site to just be another catfish joint. We were surprised to find that it is a white tablecloth restaurant with pretty good food. The sunset picture was taken from the dining room. The marina is hosting a large (140 boats) bass fishing tournament. We departed at 5:30 am to get out ahead of the fishermen. The blurry picture is some of the boats floating around waiting for the 6:00 am blast off. (Enlarge the picture to get the full effect)
