Every Boat Has A Story
This is Uno Mas Por Favor. This boat was docked alongside us at Southshore Harbor in Clear Lake for about two years. The boat had a For Sale sign on it and we never saw a single person on the boat. Then right before we left South Shore in March '07 we noticed a couple cleaning the boat. Turns out they were Canadian and had purchased the boat with the intention of bringing it to Canada. Well Columbus, Mississippi is as far as they have gotten in almost two years. Talk about slow cruising. The marina manager tells me that the owner plans to continue his journey soon.

Hey Guys,
ReplyDeleteJust checking out your blog, sure wish we were on the rivers with you!! Leaving Savannah GA in an hour and headed for points north. We are just going to piddle along and wait for cooler weather to push us south again. Hope all is well in your world, perhaps we can see each other this winter, are you going to be in Desitin for the winter?

Blake, Happy Belated Birthday! I did think of you on the 7th, but we were so "Gustaved" out here -- I actually had a card ready to send, but I thought I'd have a chance to communicate with you before then. From what I read on your blog, it seems like you had a good day, in spite of the rain. I remember taking the kids to Columbus in 1987 when Don was working there -- we also made a trip to Florence and visited the Wilson Dam -- I guess you've been through the locks there; the kids were so impressed by watching boats cross through the locks.
ReplyDeleteMorele, I'm so sorry about Deborah -- I did see Corliss at the memorial Mass but I didn't get a chance to speak with her.
I have enjoyed reading about your journey -- keep us posted. Again, I hope you have many more birthdays! Love, Sherry
