Blue Springs Marina - Boat Neighbors

We decided to stay over at the Blue Springs Marina for a few days before continuing on to Chattanooga. The marina is located in a cove off of Watts Bar Lake.

Tellico Lake

Tellico Lake was formed when the Little Tennessee River was damned. It was made famous by the fight over the Snail Darter which held up the project for several years. It is navigable

for about twenty miles at the en of which you have a view of the Great Smoky Mountains in the distance. The fort is Fort Loudon establihed by the British in 1750.

Homes On the Tennessee

The last fifty mile stretch of river into Knoxville is lined with huge homes.

Day Of Beauty

On Friday Morele got her nails did and I visited the museum.

Honda Hoot

Knoxville is the host city for the annual Honda Hoot. Several thousand bikers participate in several social functions during the four day event.

The Guitar Pick

While we were at the concert Morele said she had been hit in the face by a piece of plastic . I looked down and saw a guitar pick lying on the ground. It seems that Marc Broussard has a habit of flinging his pick into the crowd. Well, one of them hit Morele square in the face. Pretty weird, huh?

Knoxville Loves Marc Broussard

Knoxville holds a free concert on Thursday nights during the spring and early summer. Marc Broussard of Carencro, Louisiana played last Thursday. His father played with our friend, Phil Amy, during their college years. We have really enjoyed listening to Marc's CD so it was great to see him perform live. The mostly college kid crowd really loved his show. We didn't tell them that his style is a throwback to the late 60's and early 70's.

Tri Cities

The Tri Cities area of Tennessee includes Kingsport, Johnson City, and Bristol. Eastman Chemical has a large chemical manufacturing plant in Kingsport and Bristol is home to one of the major NASCAR races. Lots of economic activity in a very scenic part of the country.
