Gold Point Yacht Harbor

More like a park than a marina

High and Dry

We had some thundershowers on Sunday but we were high and dry in our covered slip at Gold Point Yacht Harbor. This is a great place. We've decided that it is the best marina we encountered on the entire trip. We're going to leave the boat here while we return to Houston for a few weeks to take care of some things.

Free Dance Lessons

On the North Shore of the river is a funky little shopping/dining district. It can be reached from downtown via a pedestrian bridge. As you walk down the sidewalk of Frazier Street you can practice some dance moves

Sunday Afternoon at Hidden Harbor

We got a covered slip at Gold Point Marina. The area is cruising paradise. We've decided to leave the boat here in Chattanooga while we return to Houston for a few weeks.

I Smell A Rat

Last year we picked up a friendly frog hitchhiker. This year a mouse snuck aboard. We went to DEFCON 5 but were unable to apprehend the interloper.

Jack Daniels, If You Please

Bring Me To My Knees.

We stopped by Lynchburg on our way back to Chattanooga from Nashville.

If You Hear Banjo Music

*******************************PADDLE FASTER!!!**********************************

These pictures were taken from the train. The Hiwassee River is very gentle and great for kayaking and rafting. I woudn't venture too far up the bank though.

Hiwassee River Railroad

We drove from Chattanooga to Etowah, TN to ride the train along the Hiwassee River into the Appalachian Mtns. It is very pretty, but definately "Deliverance" territory.

Incline Railway

The Incline Railway travels to the top of Lookout Mountain. It is not a "thrill ride" but I was kinda scared.

Four of a Kind

Morele has a hot hand with her poker machine.

More Boat Neighbors

We met some nice folks at Blue Springs Marina
